Table of Contents
Ingridient
- All-purpose flour (maida) – 2 ½ cups
- Powdered sugar – ¼ cup
- Baking powder – ¾ tsp
- Baking soda – ½ tsp
- Eno fruit salt (optional) – 1 tsp
- Milk – ½ cup
- Vinegar – 2 tsp (or lemon juice as a substitute)
- Salt – A pinch
- Water – 2 to 3 tsp (if needed)
- Butter – 2 tsp (or ghee as a substitute)
- Oil – For frying
- Chocolate – ½ cup (for coating; any type you prefer)
Prepare the Mixture
To make donuts, in a bowl take two and half cup all-purpose flour(maida), 1/4 cup powered sugar, 3/4 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp baking soda. if you have eno you can skip baking powder and soda both and use 1 tsp Eno fruit.
Now add 1/2 cup milk and into this milk add 2 tsp vinegar(circa) or you can also use lemon juice instead of it . after that add a pinch of salt and 2 to 3 teaspoon water if required. now mix it and knead it.
Form the Dough
After kneading the dough for 5 minutes add 2 tsp butter, if you do not have butter you can use ghee instead of it . now again knead the dough it’s total time to knead the dough would be around 10-12 minutes. after that you need to cover this dough and let it rest for at least 1 hour just appy some butter or ghee on the top so that top does’t dry out.
After one hour kneaded for 10 to 15 second, after that take out a portion of it. sprinkle a little maida and roll this dough, you need to roll the dough slightly thick .
Shape the Dough
To cut the donuts you can use cookie cutter so you would need two different sizes of cookie cutter or you can use a donut cutter. using these cut out the donuts and take out the extra dough and you can again use it to make the donute.
Fry
The donuts are now ready to fry. So heat oil on medium flame, add the donuts and fry them till they become golden and crispy on the outside. Make sure you don’t fry the donuts on high flame because in that case the donuts will look like they are cooked on the outside but will not be fine on the inside, so make sure you don’t do that .
Similarly fry the rest of the donuts.
Coat with Chocolate
Now coat the donuts with chocolate, for this take 1/2 cup chocolate and melt them. If you don’t have chocolate then you can coat these donuts with powdered sugar or you can use both white and dark chocolate that you have. If you have any other chocolate like milk chocolate or daily milk then you can also use that to coat your donuts.
After dipping the donuts in chocolate, you can add sprinkles for decoration this is optional. If you have white and dark chocolate then you can make some designs on it. You just need to sprinkle one color chocolate on the dark one with a spoon or sprinkle light color chocolate on the dark one or dark chocolate on the light one, you can decorate the donuts the way you want.
